Performer Proposal Information

The Arts Council of Princeton (ACP) prides itself on the quality and diversity of its performances for the public. We take great care to ensure that Arts Council patrons enjoy an enriching and engaging experience when they attend performances in our venue or public events sponsored by the Arts Council. To ensure that the Program Committee makes informed decisions when booking talent, we require that you submit a proposal for review. Our committee looks for the following elements when making selections:

1. Professionalism - Submitted materials and proposals are presented in an organized fashion. Current contact information (including website) should be clearly and legibly listed. CDs, DVDs, CD-ROMs, and any other type of media should be clearly labeled with contact information. (Media are often separated from mailing and printed materials). Please include the most current press clippings, performance/concert reviews, CD/DVD reviews, etc., with your proposal. NOTE: We look for a balance of student, amateur, emerging, and professional performers. If you are not an experienced professional performing artist, please advise us as to your level of experience.

2. Quality - The ACP Program Committee assesses the provided materials based on artistic merit and craft, originality, and creativity. If you believe the materials provided are not the best examples of your work, please consider waiting to submit until you have an accurate representation of your abilities.

3. Versatility - If you or your group can teach a workshop, offer a class, or offer some other creative component to supplement your program, please include this information in your submission. Arts education is a major component of the Arts Council's mission; creating programs that both entertain and educate is a high priority.

4. Diversity - The Arts Council attempts to balance its performing arts programming by striving for a range of disciplines and styles. We aim in our scheduling for a balance of cultural, ethnic, geographic, stylistic, and disciplinary approaches.

All proposals will be reviewed by our Program Committee during monthly program meetings. You will be contacted if your proposal is accepted, and a meeting will be arranged to go over specifics of your proposal. Feel free to contact the Arts Council to follow up on a submitted proposal, although no further calls or emails are needed after submittal.

Additional questions? Email Program Coordinator.

Categories of Proposals

Performances at the Arts Council will fall into one of the following three categories and require one of the three proposal forms detailed below:

1. Featured Performer: As a featured performer, you/your group would be hired by the Arts Council of Fuquay-Varina for an Arts Council event. You may be the only performer or performing group or you may be featured in a festival or showcase. The FVAC will coordinate all publicity and promotion for the event. Click for proposal form.

2. Arts Council-Sponsored Performer: Often artists seek non-profit organizations to sponsor their application for a grant or fellowship that would fund a performance or workshop. This proposal form is designed to supply all of the necessary information that the FVAC would need in order to review such a grant application. Important: If the applicant is searching for sponsorship for an event that is already planned, it is imperative that the FVAC be solicited three to four months before the event. As sponsors of events and programs, the FVAC lists these events in its course brochure. Click for proposal form.
